Rita Anna Wood

Rita Wood, 87, Fargo ND, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Eventide in Moorhead Minnesota. Rita was born July 20, 1929 to Edward and Sofia Lehnen Haus in Calio, ND.
Rita graduated from High School in Egeland, ND, later attending Dakota Business College in Fargo. She married Donald Wood on January 9, 1959, in Webster, SD. Rita worked for Burlington Northern Railroad at the Fargo and Dilworth Locations for 43 years.
Rita was very active in her youth, participating in activities such as basketball and dancing. Later in life, Rita continued her love for activities and enjoyed playing cards, particularly a good game of bridge. Mom was a faithful supporter of many organizations, including the American Cancer, Heart & Lung Associations, St Jude Hospital, Mayo Foundation, & and Salvation Army.
Survivors include ex-husband and friend, Donald; son, Michael Lori Wood, grandchildren, Joseph Kacey Wood, Dana Wood fiancé, Dan Gorghuber, and Donovan Wood; great-grandson, Jonathan Wood; brother, Raymond Le Jeng Haus; sister, Laverne Wallace Pfeiffer; sister-in-law, Arlys Haus, and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Herbert Haus.
Services will take place on Monday, February 27, at 11 am at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead, MN with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be at a later date.
Rita’s family would like to acknowledge the wonderful, caring staff at Eventide for their service provided to mom and others entrusted to their care.
In lieu of flowers, and in spirit of Rita’s generosity, memorials are preferred to one of the above-named charities.
