Rita Marie Lorenz, age 63, of Fargo, ND, died Wednesday, October 20, 2010, in Mendota, IL.Rita Marie Lorenz was born on July 19, 1947, to Homer Lorraine and Margaret Ruth Franklin Adams in Wichita, KS. She grew up in Wichita, graduating from Wichita East High School in 1965. On August 13, 1966, Rita married V. Robert Lorenz in Wichita, KS and later moved to Overland Park, KS. Together they had two children, Lesli and Brent. After 20 years of marriage, Bob and Rita were divorced in 1986. During her many years as a homemaker, she often volunteered with her children's activities including being a PTA President at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels. Rita attended Johnson County Community College where she obtained her Associate of Arts degree in 1985. She then continued her education and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration at Webster University in 1989. Rita worked in the Information Technology field for numerous years contracted to the U.S. Marine Corps as a Systems Analyst, Product Assurance Manager, Application Developer, and Technical Writer, before moving to Boston, MA, living with her sister Ruth Cott and her husband Dan. In June 2006, she moved to Fargo, ND, where she has been since. In her last few days, Rita had enjoyed spending time with her son Brent and his family in Potomac, MD. She was on her way back to Fargo, halfway home, when she stopped at Mendota, IL, for a night's rest where she entered the Kingdom of God peacefully during her sleep. Rita enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, and quilting. She also enjoyed studying the Bible. Most importantly she will be remembered for the love she shared so openly with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She will be missed dearly. She is lovingly survived by a daughter Lesli McCully, her husband Brad and their children, Megan and Kyle, all of Reile's Acres, ND; a son, Brent Lorenz and his wife Christine and their children, Jacob, Alex and Justin all of Potomac, MD; two sisters, Ruth Cott and her husband Dan Cott of Virginia Beach, VA and Sheryl McBeth of Haskell, OK; and one brother, Steve Adams of Denver, CO.
