Robert A. ’Bob’ Decausmeaker

Major Robert Arlo deCausmeaker, US Army Retired, 75, Moorhead, MN, passed away on Friday January 20, 2012 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND. At his side were Chiyoko, his wife of 36 years, and his children Mark, John and Dawn. He is survived by 3 other daughters, Migiwa, Megumi, and Izumi.Bob was born on June 13, 1936, in Fargo, ND, to Clarence and Ihrma Iverson deCausmeaker. He grew up and attended school there, graduating from Fargo Central High School in 1954. Bob served his country for twenty-two years with several tours of duty in Korea and Vietnam, retiring from the US Army in 1976. Bob married Chiyoko Uehara in Okinawa, Japan in 1975. He was a great sports fan, and an ardent supporter of the Twins and the Wild, he loved to garden, hunt and barbeque but his greatest love and passion was spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Chiyoko, Moorhead, MN; children, Mark Carol deCausmeaker, Wilmington, NC, Migiwa Gushiken, Okinawa, Japan, Izumi Hiro Sugaya, Tamuning, Guam, Megumi deCausmeaker, San Jose, CA, John Monica deCausmeaker, Minneapolis, MN, Dawn Mike Jenkins, Moorhead; eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jean Spong.
