Robert Bob G. Costello

Robert “Bob” G. Costello, 92, of Dilworth, MN, died Saturday, August 15, 2015, in Eventide Senior Living, Moorhead, MN, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Robert “Bob” George Costello was born on January 15, 1923, in the Township of Marshall, WI, to John and Jennie Holt Costello. He grew up in Spring Valley, MN, where he attended school. Bob worked for a farmer before he enlisted and served in the United States Navy. Upon returning to Spring Valley after the Navy, Bob worked as a milkman. He later started his career as a machinist for Standard Oil, where he worked for 33 years until his retirement. In 1941 Bob married Faye Bundy and together they had six children. The family moved to Sauk Center, MN, and then to Dilworth, MN, as Bob was transferred with Standard Oil. Faye died in 1976. Bob was then transferred to Elk River, MN, where he worked until he retired. He married Donna Mosher later in 1976. Donna died in 2002. In 2006, Bob moved back to Dilworth, MN, where he had since resided.

Bob loved to go fishing and snowmobiling. He also loved to dance, play cards, and travel in the motor home. After retirement, Bob enjoyed spending his winters in Texas. He was a member of the American Legion in Dilworth.

Bob is survived by his six children, Shirley Dave Dibrito, Cold Spring, MN, Peggy Alan Blake, Dilworth, MN, David Bernadette Costello, Dilworth, MN, Linda Doug Hunter, Fargo, ND, Denny Kim Costello, Moorhead, MN, and Michael Cyndi Costello, Waite Park, MN; sister, Anna Mae Chris Christensen, LeRoy, MN; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jennie Costello; wife, Faye; wife, Donna; infant son; brother, Jim Costello and sister, Lois Reichert.

Memorial Service: Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Interment: At a later date in Spring Valley, MN.
