Robert “Bob” Larson

Robert “Bob” Larson, 87, of Moorhead, died on Monday, June 9, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Moorhead.
Bob was born on April 5, 1927 to Oscar and Lucille Larson in Minneapolis, MN. When Bob was young, the family moved to Moorhead where he grew up and graduated from Moorhead High School.
In 1956 Bob married Dorothy Jore at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and they remained in Moorhead. He worked various jobs for his father over the years, including the restaurant business and the Comstock Motel in Moorhead. For several years, he was a salesman of children’s and women’s clothing and he retired in 1992 from Moorhead State University where he had worked in maintenance for over 20 years.
Bob enjoyed playing cards, fishing at their lake property on Big Pine Lake, and he especially enjoyed visiting with the neighborhood children when they were helping him with yard work or chores.
Bob is survived by his wife, Dorothy, and his son, Patrick Gioia Larson of New Jersey, his daughter, Cindy Larson of Moorhead, and two grand-children, Sierra and Shea.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Michael Larson.
Funeral Service: Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 7:00 P.M. with visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.
Burial service will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Moorhead.
