Robert Carl Nordland

Robert C. Nordland was born December 26, 1940 to Lenora and Carl in Waltham, MA. He passed away October 30, 2017 surrounded by his wife and family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Robert enlisted right after high school with the United States Marine Corp, and was decorated during his 10 ½ years of service, before serving with the National Guard for 9 years. Robert then joined the National Weather Service in Fargo, ND and retired after 21 years of service. Robert married Barbara Goers on February 8, 1964 in Kaneohe, HI while enlisted with the USMC and serving in Vietnam.

Robert is survived by his wife of 53 years Barbara; sons, Eric (Seth), Russell (Jill) and Douglas (Roberta); 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Emma Lynn; 2 sister in-laws, JoAnn Keller Dale and Susan Teel; and many nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
