Robert D. ’Bob’ Pechacek

Robert "Bob" Pechacek died Monday, March 12, 2012 in his home.Robert was born August 13, 1934 in Goose Prairie Township, MN to Robert and Rose Gerner Pechacek. He attended school and graduated from Hitterdal High School in 1952. He farmed with his dad until he joined the Army in 1955, he served honorably for three years. Upon his return from the Army he worked for Walton's Standard in Moorhead.On September 9, 1960 he married Genene Hanson in Sisseton, SD. Together they raised their two children, Cathy and Steve.In 1964 he went to work for Holmen's Oil in West Fargo, ND. In 1966 he became affiliated with Standard Oil managing several dealerships before purchasing his own station in Moorhead. He retired in May of 1993.He enjoyed having and keeping a nice car, woodworking, traveling, visiting and having coffee! He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Genene; daughter, Cathy Mark Dibble, Moorhead; son, Steve Sherry Pechacek, Statesville, NC; three grandchildren, Jake and Sam Dibble, Moorhead and Sarah Pechacek, Fargo; three step-grandchildren, Caleb, Isaac and Rose Marshall, Statesville, NC; one sister, Marlene Pietsch, Casselton, ND; one uncle, Adolph Gerner, Blackduck, MN; four sisters-in-law, Sylvia Lyle Oien, Donna Asleson, LaRane Krueger and Phyllis Weigend; one brother-in-law, Hilmen Alta Hanson and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers-in-law.
