Robert D. Swenson, 57, 5508 5th Street NW, Moorhead, MN, died on Monday, September 27, 2004, in Meritcare Hospital, Fargo, ND.Robert Duane Swenson was born on May 28, 1947, in Moorhead, MN, to Norman and Arlene Wright Swenson. He grew up and attended school in Moorhead and Dilworth, graduating from Dilworth High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Army for two years, serving in Germany where he met his wife Christine. Robert married Christine Schmidt on October 10, 1970, in Dilworth Lutheran Church, Dilworth, MN. They lived in Fargo, ND, for a short time before moving to Moorhead, where they have lived since. Robert worked for the Department of Veteran's Affairs for thirty-two years, retiring on December 31, 2000.Bob was a kind and loving husband, father, son and brother. He loved life and sports, particularly basketball, golf and fishing. His granddaughter, Kaylee, was the apple of his eye.Bob is survived by his wife, Christine Swenson, Moorhead; son, David Jamie Swenson, Glyndon, MN; parents, Norman and Arlene Swenson, Dilworth, MN; brother, Richard Beverly Swenson, Moorhead; granddaughter, Kaylee Swenson, Glyndon, MN; Niece and Nephew, Dean Jodi Stoa Swenson, Minneapolis, MN, and Dawn Swenson, Moorhead, MN; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
