Robert F. Haugstad

Robert Forrest Thelmer Haugstad, 79, of Moorhead, died on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.Robert was born in Trail County, ND on October 4, 1924 to Albert and Mabel Haugstad. He grew up and attended school in Cummings, ND at Bingham School. On March 8, 1945 he was enlisted into the Army and served over seas during Occupational Duty in Italy. He married IvaDell Hanson on June 4, 1949 in Climax, MN.Robert worked for Balmer Motors in Moorhead from 1948 to 1970 as Parts Manager. After that he worked for the Moorhead School System at Moorhead Technical Institute, and retired in 1988.Robert enjoyed traveling, bus trips in the US and Canada, and has been to Norway four times where he toured the country and visited relatives. He also enjoys ice fishing, dancing and photography. He loves his family consisting of his surviving son Jon Beth Haugstad, Bemidji, MN; two daughters, Nancy Noel Eichhorst, Grand Forks, ND and Mary Haugstad, Grand Forks, ND; one granddaughter, Anna Haugstad, Bemidji, MN; three brothers, Edgar Lorraine Haugstad, Moorhead, MN, James Audrey Haugstad, Moorhead, MN, and Vernon Mavis Haugstad, Cummings, ND; one sister, Leatrice Dell of Carrington, ND.Robert was preceded in death by his grandson Derrick Haugstad and one brother in law Oscar Dell.
