Robert Goodwin Frey

Bob Frey died peacefully with his family at his side on June 14, 2017 at the age of 87 under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.

Bob was born at home to William ‘Bill’ and Ellen Olson Frey on July 13, 1929 in Moorhead, MN. He grew up in Moorhead and attended Moorhead Schools.

On October 1, 1949 he married Lucille Lucy Madsen in Moorhead, MN. She died April 25, 2000.

Bob was an over the road truck driver; a career he thoroughly enjoyed. The love of his life, Lucy, went with him on some of his trips which they made into an adventure with a lot of memories. Bob was a prankster and liked a good joke – either giving or receiving one. He was the life of the party. Bob had a rough exterior but was a marshmallow on the inside.

Bob’s family would like to extend gratitude and appreciation for the staff at Lilac Homes Memory Care, Dr. Brent Hella and staff at Internal Medicine Associates and Essentia Health 5th Floor Staff for the care, respect, and dignity they gave our dad.

Bob’s legacy will continue with his children, Peggy Dennis Reed, Greg Karen Frey, and Debbie Jan Gunderson Vierkant; grandchildren, Jason Selena Reed, Angela Reed, Chad Reed, Dana Koyla Vierkant, and Drake Vierkant; and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucy; son, Kevin; parents; brother, Eugene; and sister, Margaret.

Memorial Visitation: Monday, June 19, 2017, at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead, MN from 5:00-8:00PM.

Memorial Service: Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at 2:00PM at The Lutheran Church of Christ the King, 1900 14th St. S., Moorhead, MN.
