Robert J. "Bob" Loeffler, age 83, of Moorhead, died Thursday, March 16, 2006, in Innovis Hospital, Fargo, ND. Bob was born October 20, 1922 in Worcester, MA to Elvira and Guy Loeffler. He attended elementary and high schools in Worcester and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science from Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY. He pursued his doctorate at the University of Wisconsin, in Madison. He accepted a position at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN as a Professor of Botany in the Biology Dept. In 1973 he resigned this position because of ill health. He had a life-long interest in history, which led him to the Comstock Historic House in Moorhead. He became the site manager and in so doing the house was opened to the public. Bob enjoyed a life long interest in plants, the circus, his family history, and the church.Robert is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jane; children, Nathan, of Manchester, CT, Clay Kimberly of Blaine, MN, Leslie Jeff Haugstad, of Moorhead, and Catherine Matt Larson of Andover, MN; grandchildren, Adam Loeffler, Peter Ruth, and Kristi Haugstad, and Brett, Katie, and Erik Larson; and sisters, Loraine Leslie Johnson, and Barbara Utter of Worcester, MA.He was preceded in death by his parents.In lieu of flowers, memorial preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church of Moorhead or Concordia College of Moorhead.
