Robert J. Ellingson

Robert J. Ellingson, 67, Hawley, MN, died unexpectedly while working on his truck in St. Paul, MN on April 29, 2010.Robert was born on March 21, 1943, in Fargo, ND, to Julian and Beatrice Peters Ellingson. He grew up and attended school in Hitterdal and Hawley, MN. He was confirmed by Pastor Turmo in Hawley Lutheran Church. Bob married Sharon Peterson on August 11, 1963, in Hawley, MN, and they were later divorced. He worked for Interstate Seed and Grain, American Crystal Sugar Company and construction with his uncle Alfred Ellingson in Moorhead. His passion for trucking surfaced in the early sixties and he made his living driving truck for the rest of his life. Bob married Carol Bjerke on September 1, 1973 in Hawley, MN. At the time of his death he was driving for Trailer Transfer. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed watching car shows and working with his train sets.He will be greatly missed by his wife, Carol, Hawley, MN; mother, Beatrice Ellingson, Hawley, MN; son, Randy Kristi Ellingson, Hawley, MN; daughters, Shelley Jeff Solberg, Erskine, MN, and Kelle Kelly Hagen, Huson, MT; brothers, Pete Joyce Ellingson, Moorhead, MN, and Alan Ellingson, Prescott, WI; sisters, Judi John Lund Kruger, Moorhead, Connie Bob Peterson, Hawley, MN, and Nancy Rick Jorgenson, Hawley, MN; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Julian Ellingson; and his father and mother-in-law, Nile and Olga Bjerke.
