Robert K. “Bob” Foss

Robert K. “Bob” Foss, 79 of Evansville, MN passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022, at St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN.

Robert Keith Foss was born May 23, 1943, in Tacoma, WA to Kenneth and Esther (Nelson) Foss. He grew up in Wadena, MN and graduated from Wadena High School. Bob received his bachelor’s degree from Concordia College and went on to receive his master’s degree from the University of North Dakota in Accounting. He was proud when he passed his CPA exam on his first attempt.

Bob married Lolita Asmus in Wadena in 1964 and had two children, Michelle and Keith. They built their lives and family together as a team. The family moved from Grand Forks to Fargo where Bob accepted a position with Concordia College. He worked as Controller and later as a professor for the school for over 25 years. Bob and Lolita were married for 30 years.

Bob later met Barbara Werre. They enjoyed 20 years together traveling, sampling wines, discovering music & art, and even working together for a time.

Bob was a great father and loved being a grandpa. His grandson, Duncan, brought out the best in him. In recent years he cherished working as a foster grandparent in kindergarten classes. Bob brought chess to Parkers Prairie Elementary and Voyager Elementary in Alexandria, MN. It is still part of their curriculum.

Bob was always active. He loved playing racquetball and later pickleball, biking, and downhill skiing. He was delighted when as a senior he could ski for free. Bob liked entertaining at his lake home.

Bob is survived by his children, Michelle and Keith, and grandson, Duncan Foss. He was preceded in death by his parents and half-sisters, Elaine William, Kathryn Leahy, and Ruth Erickson.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at 2:00 PM with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
