Robert L. Wegner

Robert L. Wegner, 80, Moorhead, MN, died on Monday, May 22, 2006, in MeritCare Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.Robert was born on December 14, 1925, in Moorhead, MN, to Otto and Bessie Rensvold Wegner. He grew up and attended school in Moorhead, graduating from Moorhead High School in 1943. He was in the U.S. Navy from 1943 until 1946 serving in the Pacific Theatre of WWII. He was discharged on October 14, 1946 and returned to Moorhead, where he went to work for Fairmont Foods. He worked there for twenty five years, as a district sales manager and then worked for Schweigert Meats as district sales manager until retiring in 1978. In retirement, he worked for St. Luke's Hospital for nine years. Robert married Jean Eng on October 21, 1947 in the Little Forks Lutheran Church in Portland, ND. Jean died in June of 1977. Robert married Alice Mae Larson on August 12, 1978 in Pontoppidan Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND. Robert was an active member of Pontoppidan Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND.He is survived by his wife, Alice Mae Wegner, Moorhead, MN; one son, Barry Cindy Wegner, Fargo, ND; one daughter, Becky Don Anderson, Ft. Worth, TX; one sister, Betty Spencer Smith, Springfield, MO; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Orrin and a sister, Marion Tchouban.
