Robert S. “Bob” Allen

Robert S. Allen, 88, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo, ND. Bob was born October 25, 1930, in Fargo, ND, to Merle and Faye (Rice) Allen. He grew up on the family farm south of Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead High School. On August 14, 1950, Bob married Roberta Poenisch in Corpus Christi, TX. Together they made their home and farmed south of Moorhead. Over the years, Bob took pride in his work and enjoyed the time outdoors and farming.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Valerie (Mark) Schuck, Loretta (David) Gille; son, Glenn (Diane) Allen; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Laura Dickhaus and Lois Hanson; sisters-in-law, Maxine Allen and Velma Poenisch; brother-in-law, Mickey Magill; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta; parents, Merle and Faye; brother, Francis “Frannie” Allen; and brother-in-law, Barney Dickhaus.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley or Rosewood on Broadway.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 4, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., followed by the prayer service at 7:00 p.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.

Interment will be at Moorhead Memorial Gardens at a later date.
