Robert W. Stevenson

Robert W. Stevenson, 76, of Moorhead, MN died on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in Sanford Health's Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND.Robert "Bob" Stevenson was born on July 7, 1934 in Viding Township on a farm West of Felton, MN, to Maurice and Alvina Kolle Stevenson. He attended country school thru 8th grade and graduated from Felton High School in 1953. He entered the National Guard and from there enlisted in the United States Army in 1954. On June 19, 1960 he married Helen Hogetvedt in Ulen, MN. Together they had two children, Gregory and Jeffrey. Bob worked at John Deere in Ada, MN. Later they moved to Moorhead where he worked at Flavorland Industries, Barrett Mobile Home Transport, Red Owl and Janesville Auto transport as a truck driver. He will be remembered for always having to fix things, mostly with duct tape and mobile home screws. Bob was active at his church, Elim Lutheran Church in Fargo, and their men's club. He will be enjoying the company of his grandson, Logan Gregory Stevenson, in Heaven. Bob is survived by his wife, Helen; two sons, Gregory Jill Stevenson, Osage, MN and Jeffrey Pam Stevenson, Audubon, MN; a twin brother, Richard Stevenson, Moorhead, MN; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Grace, Ruth and Marion; and all aunts and uncles.
