Roderick M. Ponce

Roderick Mark Ponce, 52 years old, born on August 2, 1964 in Las Cruces, New Mexico died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 in Dilworth, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Llamas Ponce, and mother Natalia Baca Ponce. He is survived by his sisters Patricia Dudley and Cecilia Ponce Nolan husband Mark Nolan, and brother Philip Ponce Debra Fiene, companion. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Rod loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and fished many a lake when he lived in Albuquerque, NM, Wichita, KS and Minnesota. The one thing about Rod was he knew his way around tools. He could fix anything. Rather than being a deep reader, his mind was wired to figure out a car engine, or an electrical circuit. He could run any machinery, from a 18-wheeler truck to a tractor.

We will truly miss our little brother but we’ll always have the great memories of growing up together.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Wright Funeral home in Moorhead on Wednesday, April 26th, at noon, with a reception to follow at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Dilworth.

A Catholic Mass and interment will be held in Albuquerque, NM at a later date.
