Roger Allen Evenson, 80, of Moorhead, MN, died March 10, 2022, at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.
Roger was born February 11, 1942, in Fargo, ND, to Arthur and Della (Stinar) Evenson. He graduated from Moorhead High School in 1961 and began working in a local flower shop where he discovered a love for flowers.
In 1966 he was united in marriage to Alice Flink in South Dakota and they made their home first in Fargo and later in Minneapolis, MN. For about 15 years, Roger was employed by FMC as an electrical inspector on U.S. Navy ships. Roger and Alice began “flipping houses” and moved a lot between Fargo-Moorhead and the Twin Cities in their creative endeavor. Roger then began employment for 10 years at Mid-America Steel in Fargo. They later moved to Las Vegas, NV and he worked as an electrical inspector for Kalco Lighting, where he would eventually retire. During his retirement years he enjoyed working part-time at the Las Vegas Convention Center, until he moved back to Moorhead to live with his daughter, Tracy, in 2018.
Roger will be remembered for his loving, generous spirit and how he was always taking care of others. He had a great love for the ocean and he enjoyed all things creative, including painting, flowers and musicals.
Roger will be deeply missed by his daughters, Rhonda (Wayne) Richardson, Lake City, MN, Tracy Mischel, Moorhead, and Cherri (Cyril) Griffin, North Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Raymond Reeves Jr. and Cherae Reeves, and great-granddaughter, Christina Linderman. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Arthur Evenson Jr., his wife, Alice and grandchild, Angel Linderman.
