Roger Marlyn Hoyme was born September 7, 1928, to Torval and Florence (Taasaas) Hoyme near Wolverton, MN.
Roger attended a country school near Comstock, MN. Roger enlisted in the US Army. When he was 22 years old, he went over seas to Germany during the Korean War. When he returned, he met and married Lila Hanson in 1953. Shortly after that, they had a daughter, Vickie Joy. Roger and his family made their home on a farm near Comstock, MN for 6 years, then moved into Comstock years later. Throughout Roger’s life, he farmed, working for Steiger Tractor, and in later years he worked at the Cenex Fertilizer plant in Comstock.
Roger took pride in his gardening skills and loved to give away his produce to family and friends. During their marriage, Roger and Lila loved to go dancing and spend time with their friends and family. Roger found great joy in attending and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Roger rarely missed them.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Torval and Florence; his wife, Lila Hoyme; brother, Donald Hoyme; and son-in-law, Tim Mullikin.
Roger is survived by his daughter, Vickie Mullikin, Dilworth, MN; grandson, Ryan (Michelle) Mullikin, Dilworth, MN; granddaughter, Shannon (Bryan) Bienek, Dilworth, MN; 5 great-grandchildren, Shelby, Megan, Jack, Gracie, and Jace; siblings, Margaret (Chuck) Hetherington, St. Petersburg, FL, Clayton (Jeanette) Hoyme, Fargo, ND, Harvey (Gerry) Hoyme, Kindred, ND, Curtis (Debra) Hoyme, Fargo, ND; and many other loving relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020, at 11:00 A.M., at Comstock Lutheran Cemetery, Comstock, MN.
