Roger Nord

Roger Nord, 88, of Hitterdal, MN, died November 6, 2022, at Viking Manor in Ulen, MN.

Roger Ivar Wallace Nord was born November 19, 1933 in Nebraska to Ivar and Hannah (Steen) Nord.  The family moved to Hitterdal when he was in the 8^th grade and he graduated from Hitterdal High School in 1951. Roger was united in marriage to Darlene Hettenbaugh in April 1955 and they made their home on the farm in Hitterdal.  Roger took over the family farm when his father passed away and he continued farming until 1983 when they moved to Tucson, AZ.  While there he worked in the custodial department at the University of Arizona.  They moved back to Hitterdal in 1998.

Roger enjoyed working outside and was known for having the neatest yard in town.  He enjoyed time spent at their cabin on Cormorant Lake, visiting family in Montana, and attending WMSTR in Rollag, MN.

Roger is survived by his wife, Darlene; his children, Lorelei Corwin, St. Paul, MN, Brenda (Jeff) West-Dusek, Moorhead, MN, Val (Gary) Jacobson, Hitterdal and Eric (Suzette) Nord, Moorhead; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Joanne Hitterdal and his son-in-law, Dave Corwin.

Visitation will be Friday, November 11, 2022, from 4:30 to 6:30 P.M. with a memorial service at 6:30 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home in Hawley, MN.
