Ronald G. Berger, 63, of Lake Park, MN passed away January 3, 2013 peacefully in his home, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley, after a long battle with cancer. Ronald was born February 6, 1949 in Thief River Falls, MN, to Russell and Muriel Berger. He graduated from Mahnomen High School. Ronald married Carol VanDenEinde on December 9, 1967. He started out working as a draftsman for Belanca Aircraft in Alexandria, MN. In 1975, he and his family moved to Dilworth, MN and he worked for Alloway Manufacturing as a draftsman and purchasing agent. He and his wife also owned and operated a machine shop in Fargo, ND. In 1995, they moved to Lake Ida in Pelican Rapids, MN. Due to his illness, in June he retired from Bongards Creameries in Perham, MN, and they moved to Lake Park, MN.
He enjoyed peaceful days at the lake and his dog Luke, but his six grandchildren brought him his greatest joys. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 45 years, Carol; children, Regie Lynda Berger of Crofton, NE, and Michele Mike Honek of Dilworth, MN; grandchildren, Brooke, Sydney, Cole, Zachary, Brianna and Peyton; brothers, Randy Bev Berger of Mahnomen, MN, and Rick Berger of Detroit Lakes, MN; sister, Rhonda Paul Hanson of Reno, NV; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Muriel Berger, and sister, Rosalyn Berger.
The family has requested that any memorials be sent to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
