Ronald B. Rohweller, 77, Hawley, MN, died Thursday, July 2, 2020, at Sanford Hospice House, Fargo, ND.
Ron was born September 16, 1942 to Harley and Ethel Rohweller of Foxhome, MN. The family moved to a farm along the Ottertail River south of Perham. While living there, Ron found his love of fishing, bringing home supper many times. He also taught himself to play a harmonica and he played with his father and brother for family entertainment. The family moved to California for a short time. Being the adventurer he was, he made friends and learned about the mountains and experienced things to remember for a lifetime, all while helping his dad at the gas station in El Cajon Pass and attending school in San Bernardino. The family moved back to Minnesota and lived on a farm by New York Mills. He graduated from high school in 1960. After high school Ron joined the Carpenters Local #1176 in Fargo. Ron was a member for 54 years working for various contractors.
On June 26, 1965 he married Beverly Hanson. They had two children, Paul and Julie Ann.
Ron had a positive mindset that would never give up. His love of fishing, hunting, traveling and jamming with his harmonica lasted until his health failed.
Ron is survived by his wife Beverly; son, Paul (Karrie); daughter, Julie Ann (Randall) Cook; grandchildren, Erinn Dady, Megan Dady, Cory Cook, Natalie Cook, Allison Rohweller, and great-granddaughter, Audrey Dady. He is also survived by his brother Ted (Joyce) Rohweller, sisters, Mary Klemek, Philomena (Marvin) Ries, Clarice (Tony) Miller and Roberta (Larry) Vorderbruggen and many nieces and nephews.
Ron had many special people in his life. We would like to thank our helpers over the last few years: Tim Omberg, Wayne Nelson and Kim and Carlo Samson.
