Ronald D. Laddusaw, 81, Hawley, MN, died on January 16, 2021 in Banner Baywood Hospital in Mesa, AZ.
Ronald Duane Laddusaw was born April 20, 1939 at Wheaton MN to Arthur and Beth (Olson) Laddusaw. He was raised in the area and graduated from Wheaton High School in 1958. He enlisted in the US Army Reserve and was honorably discharged after 9 years of service. He married Carol Ann Gaulrapp at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton, MN on June 6th, 1959. He began his career in the grocery industry in 1959. After many ventures he and his family settled in Hawley, MN, where he purchased Super John’s Super Valu in 1979, which he operated as Ron’s Super Valu (later known as Tony’s Super Valu). He retired in 1999.
He was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Hawley, MN. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, billiards and poker player, lake lover, bus driver, and a man of great detail. He enjoyed mowing lawn at the Hawley Golf Club. Ron played amateur baseball and then old-timer’s softball for many years. He was also a member of the Hawley football chain gang for many years.
There was never a question on how much love he had for his family and no one could hug like him. He was a great man, husband, dad, and grandpa.
He loved wintering in Arizona as a snowbird yearly. He was a very active member of Carriage Manor Resort in Mesa, AZ.
He is survived by his wife Carol; sons: Anthony (Rhonda) Laddusaw of Hawley, MN, Michael (Lori) Laddusaw of Barney, ND, Matthew (Mary) Laddusaw of Hawley, MN; daughters: Ronna (Norbert) Althoff of Mooreton, ND, Marnie (Chad) Slager of Dent, MN. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren with two on the way; and 3 brothers, Darrell (Cindy) Laddusaw, Jay, FL, Doug (Sherry) Laddusaw, Delano, MN, and Argell Laddusaw, Fargo, ND.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters, 1 grandchild and 1 great grandchild.
The memorial service will be held on May 15, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. in St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Hawley.
