Ronald Elder ’Swede’ Anderson

Ronald Elder "Swede" Anderson, 71, Christine, ND, died on Saturday, May 26, 2012 in Manor Care Nursing Home, Fargo, ND.Ronald was born on May 31, 1940, in Tracy, MN, to Elder and Edith Nydell Anderson. He graduated from Slayton, MN high school in 1958. Ronald married Judy Miller on October 18, 1958, in Slayton, MN, where they made their home. He worked at various jobs until beginning his life long career as a trucker. They moved to Christine, ND, in 1972, where they have lived since. Ronald retired in 2003, for health reasons. He enjoyed collecting and, with his son and grandsons, restoring old cars and tractors including a 1930 Ford Model A street rod, 1938 Case tractor and a 1954 Allis Chalmers tractor. He was a member of, and enjoyed the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion at Steamer Hill in Rollag, MN.Ronald is survived by his wife, Judy, Christine, ND; daughter, LaVonne Craig Granholt, Christine, ND; son James Teri Anderson, Pella, IA; and daughters Sheila Scott Halverson, Hickson, ND, and Sarah Travis Hopkins, Breckenridge, MN; sister Kathleen Swenson, Rice Lake, WI; brother Paul Jeanne Anderson, Canby, MN; fourteen grandchildren Joshua Suzie Granholt, Matthew Fiancé Jill Granholt, Nellie Darrin Olsgaard, Jake Anderson, Claire Anderson, Hannah Derek Pettersson, Carson Laney, Kayla Halverson, Jenna Ronnie Nordstrom, Andrew Halverson, Jarred Boumont, Kellsie Boumont, Jeremyn Hopkins, Dawson Pederson; four great-grandchildren, Brandon Halverson, Aidden Laney, Colton Olsgaard, Shelby Granholt.
