Ronald L. ’Rc’ Cummings

Ronald "RC" L. Cummings, 73, of Glyndon, MN, died Thursday, November 8, 2012 in Sanford Health's Palliative Care, Fargo, ND. Ronald LeRoy Cummings was born on July 2, 1939 in Hawley, MN to Gordon and Beatrice Estrin Cummings. He grew up and attended school in Hawley. On February 20, 1960 he married Ethel Norman. They moved to Glyndon, MN in 1964, where they raised their two children. After attending school in Hawley, Ron worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Moorhead, MN as Plant Superintendent until 1982. In 1982, he started Ron's Excavating until his retirement in 2008. After retirement, Ron continued excavating and mentoring with Luther Blilie.Ron enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his son, Terry Shelley, Glyndon, MN; daughter, Denice "Dee-Dee" Robert Vilas, Moorhead, MN; Vivian's son, John James Miller, Moorhead, MN; two brothers, Mylin Debbie, Glyndon, MN and Arlen Brenda, rural Detroit Lakes, MN; five grandchildren, Richard Danielle Cummings, Ft. Wayne, IN, Rebecca Shawn Gummeringer, Fargo, Randall Jessica Phillips Cummings, Fargo, Leah Cummings, Felton, MN and Allison Vilas, Moorhead; two great-grandchildren; and special friend, Kathy Sheerin, Glyndon, MN. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; infant grandson, Sterlyng Vilas; niece, Cathleen Cummings; and companion, Vivian Miller.
