Ronald M. ’Ron’ Anderson

Ron Anderson, 70, of West Fargo, formally, Moorhead, died Thursday, February 23, 2006, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND. Ronald Martin Anderson was born on July 2, 1935 to Martin and Frances Zekus Anderson in Cleveland, OH. He grew up and attended school in Cleveland, graduating from high school in 1953. After graduating high school, Ron joined the United States Marines. He served during the Korean War Conflict as a Radio Telegram Operator from 1953 until he was honorably discharged as a rank of Sergeant in 1957. Before moving to Moorhead, MN in 1970 he worked in the reinforced plastics industry in Ohio, Indiana and Wisconsin. On February 5, 1972, he married Margie Albertson in Hawley, MN. The couple made their home in Moorhead until moving to West Fargo in September of 2005. Ron worked as a Machine Operator for Sheyenne Dakota Inc. until his retirement in 2000. Ron enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Kelly, Alex and Max, playing golf, reading books and working crossword puzzles in his spare time. He is survived by his wife, Margie, West Fargo, ND; one son, Brett Cathy Anderson, Ruskin, FL; five daughters, Amy Ralph Grommesh, West Fargo, ND, Lori Pat Thorson Wetzel, Kindred, ND; Ricki Leroy Kautz, Knoxville, TN, Joni Anderson, Ruskin, FL, Erin Warren Lee, Lutz, FL; one brother, Russell Stephanie Anderson, Grand Junction, CO; two sisters, Ruth Jim Benes Scharf, Wickliff, OH, Roberta James Ballie, Las Vegas, NV; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Robert and Richard Anderson.
