Rose E. Johnson

She made the world a better place by practicing the art of reaching out to others and by giving from the heart.Rose E. Johnson was born March 22, 1907 near Stanton, ND. She grew up and attended rural grade school near there. She attended High School in Hazen, ND, and college in Dickinson, ND, and Moorhead, MN. Rose married George L. Johnson on June 3, 1929. They lived on a farm near Hazen until they moved to Minnesota in 1938. She taught school in North Dakota and Minnesota for 42 years.When she retired from teaching in 1973 she did volunteer work at St. Ansgar Hospital and Heartland Hospital until 1996. She filed and made toys for the children. George died in 1968 and she remained on the farm. Rose died on November 3, 2005, in The Evergreens of Moorhead, at the age of 98.She is survived by a sister, Eleanor Iglehart, Garrison, ND; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her unofficial children, Loren and Londa Ingebretsen, Felton, MN, and grandchildren Carla Ingebretsen, Dunlap, IA, and Chris Becky Ingebretsen, and their daughter, Grace Rose, Clarkfield, MN.
