Rose F. Setness

Rose Setness, age 89, passed away at Bethany on 42nd, Fargo, ND on Friday, June 1, 2012. Rose was born to Isidor and Veronica Pruszynski Snaza in Grenville, SD on October 17, 1922. Her family moved to the Edinburg, ND area when Rose was a toddler where the family farmed and raised cattle. Rose married Palmer Setness on November 13, 1940. They settled in Park River, ND raising eight children. Rose was known as a women filled with humor, advice, and intellect. She was a very kind and loving person. Rose was an optimist, feeling hopeful and positive about the future. Rose was always thinking of others before herself and having thoughtful advice to family and friends. Rose was known for her strength through troubled times and showed guidance for her children when they felt lost. She had strong family values. Rose was a dedicated homemaker, wife and mother. Her family meant everything to her including not just her children but her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In 1980 Rose moved to Kershaw, South Carolina to be close to her daughter Eva. In 1983 Rose moved to Moorhead, MN where she was near her other children. Rose traveled throughout the years with her brother Victor visiting his daughters in Olympia, WA. She also traveled to Sacramento, CA visiting her daughter Phyllis and grandchildren. Rose traveled with her daughter Sylvia to visit her sister Florence and family in Colorado and also visiting her sons Phil and Richard. Rose is preceded in death by her parents, two infant daughters, her son Richard, her husband, two sisters, and three brothers.Rose is survived by seven children: Philip Setness of Fargo, ND, Diana Richard Setness,Aurora, CO, Dr. Phyllis Robert Herda-Hipps, Sacramento, CA, Kathleen Setness, Fargo, ND, Eva Joseph Shoemake, Moorhead, MN, Sylvia Medd, Fargo, ND, Larry Setness of Moorhead, MN and Roger Bonnie Setness of Park River, ND. She is survived by her sister, Florence Williams of Canon City, CO, twelve grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
