Rosemary Varriano Anderson, 65, beloved mother and grandmother, died peacefully in her home on Sunday, June 19, 2011 after a long courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer and Multiple Sclerosis. She was surrounded by the love of her family who gently handed her from their loving arms into the loving arms of God to a new and everlasting life. She was under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Rosemary is the beloved daughter of Joseph and Rose Varriano, Jr. Rosemary was born April 24, 1946 in Moorhead, MN. She grew up in Dilworth, MN where she attended school and graduated in 1964. She married Richard C. Anderson in 1967. Together they have one beautiful daughter, Michele. Rosemary worked various jobs in Fargo before attending MSUM. She graduated in 1981 with a BS Degree and continued on to receive her Master's Degree in Counseling and Human Development. She was employed with the VA in Tomah, WS, International Rehab, Diocese of Fargo, Karr Rehab and Stubbe and Associates as a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant until 2007 when she retired due to illness. Over the years Rosemary belonged to several social groups such as Beginning Experience, MS Society and the Cancer Support Group at Nativity where she met so many good friends and continued those friendships over the years. Recently she belonged to a Bible Study group that met every Wednesday. They read the Book of John, shared stories, deep feelings, and of course she always looked forward to the good food on those days.Rosemary's two grandchildren, Marshall Allen and Thea Rose, were the love of her life. She enjoyed spending most of her time caring for them and taking them to Rush Lake where she camped for several years. She loved family and friend get-togethers, a good cup of coffee and good food. She had the greatest neighbors who were so attentive to her during her illness. She was much noted for her generosity, honesty, a huge heart, a good listener and helping others in need. For many years, Rosemary loved attending all the sporting events of her nieces and nephews and most recently her grandson's soccer games. She also enjoyed fishing and watching football.Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Joseph Varriano Jr.; a sister, Kathleen Sampson and niece, Tina Marie Bourdeau. She is survived by her daughter, Michele Dan Kraemer; grandchildren, Marshall and Thea Kraemer, Fargo, ND; four sisters, Marianne Kenneth Bourdeau, Dilworth, MN, Elizabeth Jerry Walker, Dilworth, MN, Margaret Varriano, Moorhead, MN and Joyce Donald Mayer, Dilworth, MN; special aunt, Camille Pardino, Moorhead, MN and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by a special friend and companion, Jim Misialek.She is grateful for the care received by her daughter, Michele, family, friends, Spectrum Health Care, especially, Michelle Saldivar, Roger Maris Cancer Center and Hospice. A special thank you to all of Rosemary's friends who visited her in the hospital and at her home, and to Donnie Mayer, her devoted, 24 hour, on-call driver. A gracious thank you to Father Pat Sullivan and Sister Sharon who visited at her home on numerous occasions.
