Ross Holzmer

Ross Holzmer, 84, Lilac Homes, Dilworth, MN, formerly West Fargo, ND, died on Monday, October 26, 2020, at Lilac Homes.

Ross E. Holzmer was born on September 1, 1936, in Duluth, MN, to Fred and Estelle (Howalt) Holzmer. He grew up and attended school there. Ross went to work for Otis Elevator at the age of 17, left to serve in the National Guard, and then returned to Otis Elevator for the rest of his career. He moved to West Fargo in 1984 where he served as Otis Elevator’s superintendent for the state of North Dakota. Ross married Joan Rybak on November 26, 1960 in Duluth.

Ross retired from Otis Elevator after 44 years of service. He loved dogs and enjoyed hunting in his younger days.

Ross is survived by his wife, Joan, West Fargo, ND; sons Daryl (Kathy) Holzmer, Forest Lake, MN, and Rob Holzmer, West Fargo, ND. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dwight and Bill; and three sisters, Jackie, Willow and Diane.
