Roy Malakowsky, 94, of Hawley, MN, died Sunday, May 22, 2016 at his home.
Roy Raymond Malakowsky was born October 2, 1921 in LaBelle, Florida, to Otto and Christina Eppler Malakowsky. In 1929 he moved with his family to Minnesota where he graduated from Hawley High School.
Roy was married to Aileen Meyer on September 5, 1947 at Highland Grove Lutheran Church. Following their marriage they lived and farmed in Highland Grove Township.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Aileen, son; Ronn, brothers; Herman, August, Walter, Benjamin, Carl, and Jay, sisters; Alice English, Marie, Edna House, Verna Friday, and Elsie West.
He is survived by his sons; Rand Vana, Ft. Worth, TX, Ryan, Lakewood, CO, Ross, Hawley, MN, Grandchildren; Miranda Malakowsky, Luke Andrea Malakowsky, Peter Malakowsky and Christina Marc DeWilde, great-grandchildren; Joseph, Rylan and Silas Malakowsky and many caring nephews and nieces.
Roy loved hunting and fishing and in later years, driving the country roads keeping an eye on the local wildlife and watching the crops grow.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Red River Valley or HERT Hawley Emergency Response Team.
Visitation: Friday, May 27, 2016 from 5-7 PM with a prayer service beginning at 7 PM in Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN.
Funeral: Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 2 PM in Hawley United Methodist Church.
Interment: Hawley Cemetery
