Russell J. Hegge

Russell Hegge, 77, Moorhead, MN, died on Thursday, January 3, 2013, in Eventide Senior Living Community, Moorhead, MN.
Russell was born on October 19, 1935, at Rustad, MN, to Russell and Clarina Rindahl Hegge. He grew up and attended school in Barnesville, MN, graduating from Barnesville High School before attending the Wahpeton State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND. Russell married Karen Kuehl on December 12, 1957, in Sabin, MN, and they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on December 12, 2012 12/12/12. They lived in the Fargo-Moorhead area all of their life. He worked for Pepsi Cola Bottling in route sales for many years, then owned and operated the café and grocery store in Leonard, ND, then worked in route sales for Deli Express before owning and operating Foolery’s Bar in Argusville, ND. They moved to Fargo when he semi-retired and he worked in floral delivery. Russell had a good sense of humor and could make anybody laugh. He was looking forward to his first great-grandchild, a baby girl.
Russell is survived by his wife, Karen, Moorhead, MN; son Scott Julie West Fargo, ND; daughter Brenda Onchuck, West Fargo, ND; four grandchildren Andrea Thomas Allison, Layce Onchuck, Jocelyn Hegge and Nicholas Hegge; four sisters Jackie Howie Peet, Fargo, ND, Edele Rosenfeldt, Sabin, MN, Judy Getz, Wolverton, MN, and Audrey Harris, Detroit Lakes, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Dianne and Suzanne, and an infant brother Adrian.
Visitation: Monday, January 7, 2013, from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M., with a prayer service at 6:00 P.M., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
Funeral: Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at 10:30 A.M., in Hope Lutheran Church, South Campus, Fargo, ND.
Interment: Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Sabin, MN.
