Ruth B. Peterson

Ruth Peterson, age 88, of Fargo, ND, died Friday July 31, 2009, in Elim Care Center, Fargo, ND.Ruth B. Burks was born on September 18, 1920 in Warrensburg, MO to Talitha Browning and James Burks. She married William Carey in 1938 and moved to Washington state. Together they had three children. She later moved to Fargo. She married Clifford Peterson October 7, 1961 in South Dakota. They spent time in both Missouri and Fargo, ND. Clifford died on January 20, 1991. A couple years after Clifford's death, Ruth suffered a stroke. At that time, she became a resident of Elim Care Center where she has resided since. Ruth enjoyed bingo, crafts, painting and listening to books on tape. She is survived by two stepdaughters, Pauline Preston and Paulette Johnson both of Fargo, ND; one stepson, Ronald Jeannie Peterson of Bemidji, MN and one step-granddaughter, Val Peter Tomhave, of Fargo, ND and many other grandchildren and great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, her first husband, William Carey and her second husband, Clifford Peterson.
