Ruth C. Oleson

Ruth C. Oleson, 89, Bethany Homes, Fargo, ND, died on Sunday, June 19, 2005, in the nursing home.Ruth Caroline Oleson was born on August 31, 1915, in Pine River, MN, to Olaf and Rose Carlson Oleson. She graduated from St. Cloud State Teacher's College in 1938 and subsequently taught in several rural schools in Minnesota before moving to Grand Forks in 1944 to teach in the Grand Forks School District. While there she earned a Master's degree from the University of North Dakota. She retired from teaching in 1971, and became an active community volunteer. In 1977, she moved to Fargo. She was an active volunteer with the Dakota Hospital Auxiliary, logging many hours of service at Dakota Hospital.Ruth is survived by two sisters, Margaret Randall, Dickinson, ND, and Jean Etzell, Long Prairie, MN; she is also survived by three nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
