Ruth E. Marsh

Ruth E. Marsh, 89, of West Fargo, ND, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Eventide – Sheyenne Crossings, West Fargo, ND.

Ruth Elsabeth Eliason was born in Moorhead, MN, on February 4, 1932 to Franklin and Lillian (Jepson) Eliason. She grew up and attended school in Moorhead.

On December 4, 1948 Ruth married Roy Marsh and they made their home in Moorhead. Ruth provided bookkeeping for Roy’s Sign Services and later when they opened Viking Body Shop. In 1973 they moved to Star Lake near Dent, MN, and later to Perham where they spent 20 years before moving to West Fargo, ND.

In her younger years, Ruth worked as a CNA for St. John’s Hospital in Fargo and St. Ansgar Hospital in Moorhead and very much enjoyed it. She always loved playing cards and cooking. She enjoyed traveling south for winters in Texas with Roy and both were huge dog people. They even raised Wolf Hounds and Shih Tzu for a time.

Ruth is survived by her children, Mikell, Vashon Island, WA, Stacy (Janet), Moorhead, MN, Kennard (Christy), Spokane, WA, Kim (Dave) Klose, Fargo, ND; eight grandchildren; Thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents and granddaughter, Jody Collins.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff a Sheyenne Crossings and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their exceptional care.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 3:00 PM with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. A livestream of the service will be available here on Ruth’s page beginning at 3:00.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
