Ruth L. Lofgren

Ruth L. Lofgren, 72, of Dilworth, MN, died Thursday, February 11, 2016, in Rothsay under the care of family and Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Ruth Lee Kersting was born on April 10, 1943, in Mahnomen, MN, to Joseph and Dorothy Lindeman Kersting. On July 30, 1960, she married Merlin Lofgren. Ruth graduated from M-State Fergus Falls with her LPN degree and continued on to complete her RN. She worked as a nurse at Viking Manor, the VA, Eventide Senior Living and Sanford Health.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Merlin; children, Tomas Lofgren, Suzette Eric Nord, Robert Debra Lofgren and Dori Rick Fiedler; grandchildren, Angella Nick Kukowski, Kassandra Lofgren Parker Lipetzky, Kari Lofgren Mike Roterdam, Kristina Manny Reyes, Erica Nick Evans, Joseph Nord, Amanda Nord, Andrew Nord, Zachary Lofgren, Ashley Lofgren, Cameron Lofgren, Nicholas Fiedler, Cole Fiedler, Victoria Fiedler and Noah Fiedler; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, James Marlys Kersting; sisters, Geraldine John Moore, Joan Spry and Susan Buschette; and mother-in-law, Lucille Leno.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Dorothy; and father-in-law, Lloyd Lofgren.

Memorial Gathering: Monday, Feb. 16th from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Memorial Mass: Tuesday, Feb. 17th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN.
