Ruth Mae Salter age 100 of Moorhead, MN died Friday July 13, 2018 at Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead, MN. Ruth was born on June 30, 1918 in Buffalo, New York to Henry Arthur Black and Nora Belle Sebring.
Ruth attended school and grew up in Pennsylvania where she met Raymond (Friday) Salter. Ruth and Ray were married and made their home in St. Mary’s, PA. They traveled all over Pennsylvania and New York doing Vaudeville acts and Acrobatic Floor Shows. They were highly sought out in the entertainment industry. Ruth and Ray later divorced.
Ruth moved to California with her Mother where they lived before moving to Puyallup, Washington. Ruth worked for a Dry Cleaners for several years in Puyallup and befriended many of the City of Puyallup police officers as she would take meticulous care of their uniforms.
After being diagnosed with Dementia, and be close to family, Ruth moved to Maple View Memory Care in Fargo, ND. She later moved to Eventide on Eighth in Moorhead where she was residing at the time of her death.
Ruth enjoyed coloring, visiting with her dear friend, Deacon Allen Kukert and sharing stories of her early years with anyone who had a moment to listen.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings Delores Stuckey, Erma Colley.
There will be a private Interment at a later date at Lake Itasca, MN.
