Ruthmarie Eid, 91, of Lake Park, Minnesota, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011, in Sunnyside Care Center, surrounded by family, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.Ruthmarie Lenora was born November 9, 1919 in Lake Park, Minnesota, to August and Amalia Romare Holmgren. She married Manfred Johnson on October 6, 1946 in Lake Park, MN. Manfred died November 15, 1966. Ruthmarie married Stanley Eid on February 9, 1973. She was employed for the United States Postal Service for thirty years, serving as the Lake Park Postmistress for the last five years. She had a special place in her heart for all the children and grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Ruthmarie was well known for her crafts, especially her crochet work.She is survived by her husband, Stanley Eid of Lake Park, MN; daughters, Claris special friend, Floyd Keeping of Fergus Falls, MN, Janis Tom Weets of Frazee, MN, Linda Mike Berg of Pelican Rapids, MN and Betty Gene Karger of Elbow Lake, MN; brother, Clarence Holmgren of Hawley, MN; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Lenora Holmgren of Lake Park, MN, Sylvia Jordahl of Washington, Melba Johnson of Browerville, MN, and Deloris Johnson of Brooten, MN; brother and sister-in-law; Donald Audrey Jensen of Moorhead, MN.Ruthmarie was preceded in death by her parents, August and Amalia Holmgren; four brothers, Oscar, Carl, Allan and John Holmgren; two sisters, Clara Holmgren and Dollie Garceau; infant granddaughter, Susan Renee Keeping.
