Ryan D. Leister

Ryan Daniel Leister, 32, of Fargo, North Dakota, died on Sunday, July 26, 2009, in St. Mary's Regional Health Center, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Ryan was born October 12, 1976 in, Detroit Lakes, MN, to Daniel and Diane Hagen Leister. He grew up, attending school in Hawley and graduating in 1995. Following high school, Ryan attended the University of North Dakota and graduated in 2001 before getting his Masters Degree from South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD, in 2003. He worked for the City of Sioux Falls for a time before moving to Fargo and working for the Navteq Corporation. Ryan also worked for Community Growth Institute in Baxter, MN, but most recently was employed by Agassiz Land Management. Ryan enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, especially golf and bowling, the Twins, Vikings and spending time outdoors. He was a proud uncle whose greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed. Ryan is survived by his parents, Daniel and Diane Leister, Hawley, MN; two brothers, Nate Tori Leister, Grand Forks, ND, and Chad Liz Leister, Shakopee, MN; nephews, Tanner, Layton and Logan; niece, Makenna; and grandmothers, Betty Hagen, Bemidji, MN, and Ruth Leister, Bemidji, MN; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Clarence Hagen and Cecil Leister; aunt, Janice Moberg; and uncle, David Leister.
