Ryan D. ’Rocky’ Lau

Ryan "Rocky" Lau, 49, Ada, MN, died on Tuesday, March 1, at the Veteran's Affairs Regional Medical Center, Fargo, ND.Rocky was born September 6, 1961 in Hennepin County, MN, the son of Lyle E. "Bud" Lau Jr. and Ruth Adair Giese Lau. He grew up and attended school in Moorhead, MN. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served on the U.S.S. Ranger. When he returned home, he managed a Rent All company in Fergus Falls, MN. He later studied graphic design at the technical college in Detroit Lakes, MN. He managed Rock Solid Graphics and Design in Moorhead and later lived in Barnesville, Perley, and Ada. Rocky loved hunting and fishing, spending time at the lake, and was a great gardener. He had a talent for cooking and canning. He loved dogs, and treated his like his child.Rocky is survived by his mother, Ruth Adair Lau, Moorhead; brothers Mitchell and special friend Bobbi Jo Lau, Chad Sara Huey Ham Lake, MN; sisters Mari Mike Jastram, Fargo, ND, Heidi Steve Ness, Moorhead, MN, Luci Curt Kovash, Marshall, MN, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle E. "Bud" Lau Jr., grandparents Lyle and Elisabeth Lau and Louis and Ella Giese.
