Ryan Johnson

Ryan Johnson, 48, of Moorhead, MN, passed away February 3, 2020, at Sanford Health Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

Ryan Ordahl Johnson was born March 27, 1971 in Fargo, ND to Dennis and Rachel (Hendrickson) Johnson.  Ryan grew up in Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1989.  He attended Moorhead State University and Ford Motor School at Hennepin Technical College.  Ryan was employed at Wallwork for some time and for the last 24 years he worked at Communication Consultants Inc. (now CNE) in Fargo.

Ryan was united in marriage to Mary Hapka on August 26, 2000 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and they made their home in Moorhead where they raised their 3 children. Ryan had a strong work ethic and was very meticulous and detail-oriented in all he did. He was an avid car enthusiast from a young age and loved NASCAR, Ford Broncos, model trains and snowmobiling.  Family was most important to Ryan, and he loved vacations at Big Sand Lake, fishing with his children, and spending time with family at the farm. He also loved his cherished cat, Milo.

Ryan is survived by his wife, Mary and his children, Gemma, Nathan and Kevin, of Moorhead; his parents, Dennis and Rachel Johnson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; his sister, Leah (Tom) Martin, of Moorhead, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hank and Hildred Hendrickson and Arvid and Inez Johnson.

A memorial gathering will be held Thursday, February 13, 2020, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., with a wake service at 7:00 P.M., at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Moorhead.  The memorial gathering will continue Friday, February 14, 2020 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. followed by the memorial service at 11:00 A.M. at the church. Final resting place will be the columbarium at Cormorant Lutheran Church on a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
