Ryker S. French

Ryker Scott French, age 10, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND. Ryker was born April 22, 2010, in Grand Forks, ND, to Timothy and Michelle (Hall) French. The family moved to Moorhead in 2012, where Ryker has grown up.

Some of the things Ryker enjoyed most was being outdoors, spending time just soaking in the sun, riding fast in the boat, going for walks around Johnson Farms, and overnights in the fish house. He also enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, especially High School Musical. But most of all, he loved time with family, watching his sister and brothers’ events, and snuggling his dog, Misha.

Ryker is survived by his parents, Timothy and Michelle; sister, Jaylie; brothers, Bryson and Corbyn; grandparents, Scott and Becky Hall, and Robin Fenwick; great-grandparents, Mildred French, Rena Twiss, and Howard Steinmetz; aunts and uncles, Tyler (Maci) Hall and their son, Briggs, Thia Monteith, Vance French, Jesse Palacios, Rene Green and Crystal Harrington.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Timothy A. French, great-grandparents, Leland and Janice Hall, Arthur French, Marvin Twiss, and Naomi Steinmetz; and cousin, Adam Steinmetz.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be used to establish a scholarship fund in Ryker’s name that will go toward helping youth in the community have access to one of Ryker’s favorite sports, hockey.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 23, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, MN.
