Sandi G. Stefansen was born on July 30, 1941, to Fritz and Ruth Miller Stefansen in Tyler, MN. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at the Danebod Lutheran Church, Tyler, MN. She grew up and attended school in Tyler, MN, graduating high school in 1959. She married Dick Halsne on November 4, 1960, in Tyler. Soon after their marriage, they moved to the Fargo/Moorhead area. Sandi worked as a Legal Secretary, a Dispatch Personnel for the police department and for the District Attorney's office. In 1986, she graduated with her four year business degree from Minnesota State University, Moorhead. In 1988, she co-authored a college textbook. Sandi taught at Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Moorhead from 1977 until her retirement in 2003. Sandi was admired, loved and respected by her students and colleagues. She truly loved being a teacher and a mentor. Many of her students have kept in touch with her through the years.Her seven grandchildren adored her. She was the type of Grandma that everyone wishes they had! There was always a game to be played and treats to be had.The most precious moments of her life were when all of her family were together. She always made sure everyone's favorites were at the table. Whether it was traveling to the lake for a week or gathering together for Christmas, she made sure everything came together.She and Dick spent their retirement enjoying their yard and garden, and just being together. She also had a love for antiques. She and Dick had fun traveling to auctions for that one of a kind find! They have known each other most of their lives and were best friends. Their two halves made a perfect whole.Although she will be missed dearly, she will forever remain a strong and loving influence in all of our lives. Sandi died on February 2, 2006, in MeritCare Hospital, at the age of 64.She is survived by her husband, Richard "Dick" Halsne, Moorhead, MN; two sons, Jeffrey Angie Halsne, Minnetonka, MN, and Jason Kris Halsne, Moorhead, MN; two daughters, Juli Doug Sedivec, Littleton, CO, and Jill Steve Lodin, Noblesville, IN; two brothers, David "Skip" Linda Stefansen, Northridge, CA, and Micahel Healy, North Hollywood, CA; and seven grandchildren, Morgan, Ryan, Dustin, Hannah, Samantha, Megan, and Noah.She was preceded in death by her parents.
