Sandra Jean Perkins

Sandra “Sandie” Jean Perkins (Buhaug), 66, of Dilworth, MN, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020, in her home in Dilworth.

Sandie was born on September 7, 1953, to George and Gladys (Berget) Buhaug in Detroit Lakes, MN. Sandie grew up on a farm in Ulen, MN, before moving to Hawley, MN, during her elementary school years. She attended middle school and high school in Dilworth where she graduated. Shortly after graduation, Sandie worked at the A&W in Dilworth for a brief time. She then began her career at Charlie and Sons Electric as a Bookkeeper for 46 years. While working for Charlie and Sons, she began working for the United States Postal Service in 1995 as a rural Postal Carrier in Dilworth. She retired in July of 2020.

Sandie was an active member of the Dilworth Loco Lions Club and a member of Dilworth Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading fantasy, supernatural, thriller, and crime novels. She played solitaire, crocheted kitchen towels, and would partake in crafts whenever time permitted. She especially loved to travel to Brookings, SD, visiting her daughter and grandson during Hobo Days.

Sandie is survived by her children, Justin (Michelle) Perkins, Coleman (Samantha Olson) Perkins, and Vanessa (Matt) Pullen; grandchildren, Zaine, Ashe, Hayden, Kaleb, Seth, and Anthony; siblings, Gerald (Kathy) Buhaug, Caroline (Carlie) Lokken, John (Lori) Buhaug, Karl (Kim) Buhaug, and Kristi (Dave) Wolf; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Gladys; brother, Mark Buhaug; nieces, Amanda Perkins and Daneale Perkins; and nephew, Joshua Perkins.

A private memorial service will be held on Monday, August 24, 2020, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. A livestream of the service will be starting at 4:00 P.M., on her webpage at www.wrightfuneral.com where a video tribute and guestbook will also be available.
