Sandy K. Rye

Sandy Kay Rye, 70, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND. Sandy was born May 18, 1946, to Willard and Adeline Erickson Corbin. She grew up and attended school in Crookston, MN, where she graduated from high school in 1964. Following high school, Sandy continued her education and received a degree in Supply Management from Purdue University. On June 27, 1969, she married Mark Rye in Mayville, ND. Together they made their home in Moorhead. Sandy began her career at the V.A. Medical Center in Fargo, where she worked for 36 years. She really enjoyed giving to others. Sandy spent countless hours creating and writing cards to those she cared for. She also enjoyed cooking and entertaining whenever she could. But most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Sandy is survived by her Husband, Mark; son, Shawn Heather; grandchildren, Nolan and Nora; sister, Cindy James Bastien; aunt, Helen Corbin; and nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Adeline; brother, Larry Corbin; and aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 8, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., in The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, MN.
