Sanford E. "Skip" Steen Jr.

Sanford E. “Skip” Steen, Jr., 73, of Moorhead, MN passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Eventide on 8th, Moorhead, MN.

Skip was born in Ortonville, MN on May 14, 1950, to Sanford and Joyce (Watkins) Steen. At a young age the family moved to Moorhead, MN where Skip attended school, graduating from Moorhead High School in 1968. He attended one year at Moorhead State University before going into the work force. The majority of Skip working life was spent distributing the Minneapolis Star and Tribune as well as the Fargo Forum to various convenience stores and drop off locations for the area paper boys.

Skip enjoyed collecting comic books and anything Sci-Fi related. He also loved to read and completed book after book of word searches and crossword puzzles.

Skip is survived by his siblings, Rod Steen, Myra Hummel, and Brad (Lori) Steen; nephews, Gabe and Jack Steen and Jammie Hummel; nieces, Miranda Udean and Santana Huppa, and sister-in-law, Vicki Steen.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Terry Steen.

A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 4-6 PM at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Final resting place will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
