Sarah A. Odegaard

Sarah A. Odegaard, 89, of Lake Park, MN passed away Thursday March, 16, 2017 at Sunnyside Care Center, Lake Park, MN.

Sarah Augusta Odegaard was born October 15, 1927 to Joseph and Pearl Schultz Barry in Weaver, ND. In 1931 the family moved to Richwood, MN where Sarah grew up and attended school. At the age of 13 Sarah needed a hip replacement surgery and spent four months in Gillette Children’s Hospital in Minnetonka, MN. In 1945 the family moved to Detroit Lakes, MN.

On November 18, 1951 Sarah married David Odegaard and they raised four children on a farm near Lake Park, MN. Family was the most important thing to Sarah and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Mike Barb Odegaard; daughters, Deb Jim Hermann and Pam Monte Pederson; her son’s widow, Emily Bliss; grandchildren, Sarah Erickson, Leah Odegaard, Michael Odegaard, Mandy Hermann, Bobby Hermann, Melissa Hipps, Chris Hermann, Skyler Odegaard, Brittney Odegaard, Bailey Odegaard and six great-grandchildren.

Sarah was preceded in death by her father and mother, husband David, son Davey, brother Earl Barry, and sister Lillie Cogger.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 11:00 am with a visitation one hour before at Lake Park Lutheran Church, Lake Park, MN.

Interment will be in Lake Park Lutheran Cemetery, Lake Park, MN.
