Sarah R. Megran

Sarah R. Megran, 39, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019.

Sarah Rebekah Megran was born on December 22, 1979 in Colorado Springs, CO, to Jim and Kathleen (Rubow) Megran.  She grew up in Hawley, MN, and attended Hawley High School and later received her diploma from an Anchorage, Alaska, area high school.

As a child, Sarah loved interacting and playing with others and some of her favorite times were spent playing with siblings.  If they were indoors, under the table was a favorite spot to play and outdoors they had their favorite climbing tree and a fort behind the garage.  She also loved unicorns and ladybugs and received the nickname “bug-bug” from her dad when she was little.

Sarah married David “Gig” Jones on April 29, 2000.  He passed away in 2015.

Sarah had many goals in life, and one was to live on her own.  She got her own apartment in Moorhead last summer and was very excited about that.  She had a huge heart and was always thinking of others.  She absolutely adored her niece and nephews and was always looking for little gifts to send them.  She will be greatly missed by many.

Sarah is survived by her mother; siblings, Heidi Spradlin, Dominique Megran, Jason Megran, Jeromy Megran, Shawn Megran and Ezra Megran; niece, Lucy Megran and nephews, Jacob, Jordan and Jaren Spradlin.

She was preceded in death by her father and brother, Gabriel Megran.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 204 Pelican River Road, Detroit Lakes, MN, 56501.

Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery, Hawley, MN, in the spring.
