Scott Michael Fridlund

Scott Michael Fridlund, 76, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017, at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo, ND. Scott was born on December 29, 1940, in Moorhead, MN, to Carroll and Marjorie Raines Fridlund.

Scott attended Moorhead High School, where he graduated in 1958. He began his studies at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, and was briefly interrupted upon being drafted into the army. Upon his return, he resumed his studies and graduated in 1967 with a B.A. in Economics.

After graduation, Scott began working for Piper, Jaffray, & Hopwood as a stock broker. In 1976, he opened his own independent brokerage firm, Fridlund Securities. In 1977, he began developing commercial real estate. He was ahead of his time in the now popular trend of refurbishing and repurposing older buildings into modern day offices and retail spaces. Examples of his work include developing One Riverside Condos in Moorhead, Case Building, Graver and Gardner Hotels, and Broadway Park in downtown Fargo.

Scott was a very organized person and a very generous man. He was a friendly, gregarious, and outgoing individual who loved people. He also enjoyed classic cars, lake life, sailing, boating, and water skiing.

Scott is survived by his wife, Marcy Fridlund; daughter, Jennifer Greg Lee; grandchildren, Anastasia and Ian Lee; mother, Marjorie; sister, Karen Fridlund; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Carroll, and his son, Jon.

Service: Saturday, September 30, 2017, at 3:00PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service.

Burial: Saturday, September 30, 2017, at Riverside Cemetery in Moorhead, MN following services in Moorhead.
