Scott W. Whitehead

Scott Winter Whitehead, 58, Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Sanford Health Medical Center in Fargo.

Scott was born June 19, 1960, in Omaha, NE, to Anton and Celeste (Giere) Whitehead.  When he was 18 months old, his mother died in a tragic car accident, and after that his grandmother, Gertie, was essentially his mom.  Growing up Scott lived in and attended school in Luverne, Fargo, Ashley and Mandan, all in ND.  Scott graduated from Mandan High School in 1979 and attended Moorhead Technical College for the culinary arts program.  He worked in many restaurants and nursing homes in the Fargo-Moorhead and Detroit Lakes area over the years.  Before retiring he loved driving school bus for the West Fargo School District for a couple years.  In 1982, his daughter, Lisa, was born.  Scott was incredibly proud of his daughter and grandkids.  He had a deep love for music and a large collection of T-shirts from the many concerts he attended.

Scott is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Cooper) Silha, Bismarck, ND; grandchildren, Colton, Lane, Easton and Afton; brother, Randy (Mary Jo Gaugler) Whitehead, Lake Park, MN; uncle [more so a big brother], Dale (Laurie) Whitehead, Fergus Falls, MN, and many other uncles, aunts and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held Monday, January 14, 2019, at 11:00 A.M., with visitation for one hour before the service, at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.
